- Every figure traced to its source page
What CompeteIQ is
CompeteIQ is competition and financial analytics for corporate strategy and finance teams, government and public-sector bodies, investors and consultancies. It does two jobs on one knowledge base. The first is benchmarking your company against competitors from their official filings. The second is watching the market for competitor moves and turning them into ranked, explained signals.
The common thread is evidence. A figure on a slide links to the printed page it came from. A signal links to the article, release or exchange announcement behind it. Nothing has to be taken on trust.
Competitor analysis today
- Manual benchmarking: PDFs, copy-paste and spreadsheets every quarter, so the deck arrives days later.
- Scattered news: competitor moves appear across press, exchanges and social posts, without context.
- Hard to audit: a figure on a slide rarely links back to the page it came from.
Analysts spend their time copying numbers, not judging them. When a director questions a figure in the meeting, the answer is a hunt through old annual reports.
How it works
- Collect: filings from official sources, and news from trade press, exchanges and more.
- Read: about 35 defined statement lines, and articles become tagged signals.
- Check: every figure is read twice, and statement arithmetic settles differences.
- Analyse: ratios in your own formulas, and signals grouped into ranked events.
- Deliver: editable decks, Excel evidence, briefings, reports and chat.
Financial Benchmarking: from filing to finished deck
- Find the filings on investor-relations pages and stock-exchange copies. New results are found automatically.
- Read the statements in Ind AS or IFRS layouts. Scanned PDFs are read from images.
- Keep each year twice: as first reported, and as latest restated, so comparisons are like for like.
- Add exchange data: market cap and P/E from the exchange's own closing price, in the local currency.
- Work out ratios your way: around 20 definitions, using the formulas your own decks print.
- Build deck and evidence: editable PowerPoint on your slide master, plus a backing Excel.
Why the numbers can be trusted
- Each figure is read twice by independent methods.
- If the readings agree, the figure is verified.
- If they differ, the statement's own arithmetic decides.
- If it is still unclear, the figure is flagged as uncertain and more evidence is gathered.
- An admin can override any figure, permanently.
The backing Excel carries the proof: a Lineage sheet with the printed line, the page and a link that opens the PDF at that point; a Workings sheet with every ratio rebuilt in live formulas; a Checks sheet with statement arithmetic as formulas; and Sources and Definitions sheets listing every filing and formula.
Measured against a client's own numbers
We tested CompeteIQ on our India reference installation, a listed manufacturer, in October 2026, against that company's own hand-built material.
| Check | Result |
|---|
| Annual source tracker, standalone, FY14 to FY25 | 676 of 676 figures matched |
| Quarterly competitor decks | 125 of 129 figures matched |
| Deck figures traced to document, page and printed line | 3,800 of 3,800 |
| Reading 52 annual reports for 4 companies, FY14 to FY26 | About 25 minutes |
| Errors found in the client's consolidated tracker | 7 |
Reference-case results from one production installation. Your own results come from a reconciliation during a pilot on your decks.

Market Intelligence: from public noise to ranked signals
- Collect: trade press, company press rooms, exchange announcements, forums, marketplaces and uploaded PDFs. Failing sources diagnose and repair themselves.
- Classify: each item becomes a signal with a competitor, a market, one of 14 themes, a priority and a "so what for the client" line.
- Analyse: deep dives, severity-ranked events with decision options, a 0 to 100 disruption radar and AI-drafted reports.
- Act: acknowledge, escalate or dismiss from the keyboard, and follow competitors on one dated timeline.
Because both engines share a knowledge base, financial results tell the intelligence side which metric a competitor's move puts at risk. A price cut becomes a margin question, not just a headline.

| Weekly | Read the Network brief. Scan the Markets heatmap and open the signals behind a cell. |
| Monthly | Draft and edit the period report with cited claims. Check Foresight scores by axis. |
| Quarterly | Export the competitor deck and its Excel. Review any figures the checks corrected. |
At any time, ask a question in chat and get an answer with citations from the signals, the web or an attached chart.
Deployment, security and cost control
- Inside your cloud account: database with vector search, workflow engine for collection, private web-search service, application server and web app, reachable over your VPN only.
- Bring your own AI: any model, with each job using a model of the right cost.
- Controlled cost: token use per user, budgets per run, and scheduled collection off until an admin turns it on.
- In-country hosting: deploy in a UAE, Saudi, South African or Indian region, or on-premise, to meet data-residency and public-sector rules. Only the AI calls leave, to the provider you choose.
- Secure access: admin-created accounts, server-enforced roles and an audit trail.
Regions and sectors
India is live, with Ind AS, INR and NSE and BSE data. The UAE (IFRS, AED, ADX and DFM), Saudi Arabia (IFRS, SAR, Tadawul) and South Africa (IFRS, ZAR, JSE) are configured and adapted per engagement; we do not call those live until they are.
News monitoring needs no filings, so market intelligence can start anywhere. Competitors, sources and themes are configuration. Any listed sector works, including energy, construction, retail, telecom, FMCG and pharma, with the sector's own measures.
Getting started
- List your company, competitors and their investor pages.
- List news sources and the themes that matter.
- Run the filings sync: read and check every figure.
- Prove it against your own tracker or past decks.
- Load your slide master and map your deck formats.
- Create accounts and switch on scheduled collection.
The suggested pilot is simple: reproduce your last quarter's benchmarking deck and receive a reconciliation, with every match shown and every difference explained. Before any time saving is quoted, we ask how many analyst-days a deck takes you today and measure against that.
