Building a Digital Intelligence Hub for Enterprise Finance

By Vaibhav Rane, Founder, Cresolv One

Ask most finance leaders how automated their function is and you'll get an honest answer: "in parts." Accounts payable has a tool. Accounts receivable has another. The ERP sits in the middle. Reporting happens in spreadsheets pulled from all three, a few days after the fact. Each piece works. The problem is that nothing sees the whole.

That gap — between automated tasks and an automated function — is what a Digital Intelligence Hub is meant to close.

From scattered tools to a single command center

A Digital Intelligence Hub is not another app. It's the connective layer that pulls AP, AR, ERP, procurement and analytics into one real-time operational picture. Instead of logging into four systems to answer "where does cash stand this week and why," a finance leader sees it in one place — with the underlying transactions one click away.

The shift is from reporting on the past to operating in the present. When your payables, receivables and ledger update a shared view continuously, month-end stops being a reconstruction exercise and becomes a confirmation of what you already knew.

What it actually connects

A useful hub brings together four things most teams keep separate: transactions (invoices in and out, payments, credit notes, matched against POs and GRNs); the ledger (your ERP as the system of record, kept in sync rather than re-keyed); cash and working capital (DPO, DSO, upcoming obligations and expected inflows in one line of sight); and exceptions and risk (what's stuck, disputed, overdue, or anomalous).

Individually, each of these already lives somewhere. The value is in the join: seeing that a spike in AP exceptions this week is what will dent cash three weeks out, before it happens.

Why "one more dashboard" isn't the answer

Plenty of teams have tried to solve this with a BI dashboard bolted on top. It helps, but it inherits the same flaw: it visualizes data that's already stale and still disconnected underneath. A dashboard tells you DSO went up. A hub tells you which customers, which invoices, and what to do about it — because it's wired into the operational systems, not just reading their exhaust.

The difference is actionability. Reporting answers "what happened." An intelligence hub answers "what's happening, why, and what's the next move."

Building one without a two-year project

The instinct is to assume this means ripping out systems and starting over. It doesn't. A practical hub is built on three principles: keep your ERP as the system of record — the hub orchestrates around SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Tally or Zoho, it doesn't replace them; connect through APIs, not re-keying — every manual re-entry is a place data drifts, and real-time sync is what makes the single view trustworthy; and start with one flow, prove it, expand — usually AP, because it's high-volume and structured, then add receivables, procurement, analytics.

Done this way, you see value from the first connected flow and grow the picture over time, rather than waiting for a big-bang cutover that never quite lands.

The payoff

When finance runs on a connected hub, the daily experience changes. Approvals happen against live data. Cash forecasts are grounded in actual open items, not estimates. Auditors get a traceable trail instead of a spreadsheet archaeology dig. And the finance team spends its time on judgment — where to deploy cash, which customers to chase, which costs to question — instead of assembling the numbers in the first place.

Cresolv One's Finance AI Suite is built to be that connective layer, integrated with your existing ERP rather than replacing it — designed by people who've run these functions and know where the disconnects hurt.

If your automation today is "in parts," the question worth sitting with is this: how many systems does someone on your team open to answer a single question about cash — and what would change if that number were one?
